About this pathway
How the work unfolds
The Car Wash Project is a sheltered employment pathway where beneficiaries learn practical vehicle-care skills in a supervised setting. Work is paced to each person's capacity, with Trust staff present throughout the day to guide safety, quality, and respectful customer interaction.
This pathway rebuilds daily structure after recovery from long-term mental illness: arriving on time, completing tasks in sequence, and taking pride in visible results. Income participation and teamwork help restore confidence without pressure or spectacle.
A typical day
Daily routine
- 01 Morning briefing and task assignment with a Trust supervisor
- 02 Equipment check, water and cleaning supplies preparation
- 03 Exterior wash, rinse, and drying under guided supervision
- 04 Interior wipe-down and finishing checks
- 05 End-of-day tidy-up, feedback, and rest

Training model
